Optical Character Recognition

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is the process of converting images of printed, typed or hand-written text into editable and searchable data. OCR is typically a feature/function within software that performs a scan of an image-based file (such as PDF, .jpg, .png, etc.) and translates words into a text-based file (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.) so you can manipulate the text.
